Subwoofer Crossover & Phase Alignment Calculator

Subwoofer Crossover & Phase Baseline

Set your high-pass / low-pass crossover roughly 1.25× to 1.4× above your main speakers’ rated −3 dB point (F3) (typically 80 Hz for bookshelf monitors or 60 Hz for large floorstanders). Because sound travels 1.125 ft per millisecond, any physical distance difference or subwoofer DSP latency shifts acoustic phase at the crossover frequency and should be compensated via phase angle or AVR subwoofer distance.
