The Sennheiser HD 800 S are the best audiophile Sennheiser headphones. With a strong metal frame and large, spacious ear cups with suede-like ear cup padding, these open-back over-ears provide a luxury feel. Because they’re breathable and don’t press too tightly on your head, you should be able to wear them for lengthy periods of time without discomfort or weariness. Their neutral sound profile is well-balanced and ideal for a wide range of musical genres. Their soundstage is expansive, spacious, and speaker-like, resulting in a very immersive listening experience.

Great for listening in a neutral environment. The HD 800s provide some of the best audio reproduction. With instruments and voices, they have a well-balanced mid-range that isn’t too forward sounding. They also have enough bass to cover most musical genres, albeit they lack the low-end wallop and rumble of the Hifiman Ananda or Sundara. With already bright tunes, they can sound a little sharp, but their expansive, precise stereo picture rendering makes them one of the best solutions for neutral listeners. Check out our evaluation of the Stax SR-L300, which has a nice open sound and electrostatic drivers rather than dynamic ones like the HD800S.

However, persons with smaller heads may find the large ear cups bothersome. They’re also not well-suited to noisy places, as are most open-back headphones, because they barely block out any ambient noise and leak a lot of sound. The Sennheiser HD 560S or Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee are worth considering if you’re searching for a more cheap choice with an open-back construction and a well-balanced sound profile; but, their passive soundstage isn’t as good.

Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones

No products found.

The Sennheiser HD 598 is a pair of studio-ready open back headphones from Sennheiser. The studio headphones produce a natural and well-balanced sound with exceptional audio quality. The open back design creates a large, spacious soundstage that allows users to pinpoint the location of each instrument in the stereo area while also giving the music a sense of scale and vastness. The open back also allows noise to disperse rather than being trapped inside the listener’s ears, resulting in less listening strain.

The HD 598s excels in sound quality, with a natural soundstage and stereo separation, as well as an airy sound profile. This is appropriate for classical and concert recordings where the sound source can be pinpointed. However, because of the open-back design, the HD 598s’ bass performance is rather low. In comparison to other Sennheiser headphones, we’d say the HD598s have a more analytical sound profile. The HD 598s offer a comfortable design that allows them to be worn for extended periods of time without becoming fatigued. They feature a 50 Ohm impedance, which means they may be used with consumer electronics like phones, tablets, and laptops without the need for additional amplification.

The audiophile headphones offer a wired connection with two detachable wires, a 3-meter cable terminating in a 3.5mm TRS connector, and a 1.2-meter cable with an inbuilt remote and microphone that allows users to take calls without having to remove the headphones. This connection is compatible with the majority of existing devices and is extremely dependable, with no signal loss or latency difficulties.

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 are the best Sennheiser headphones. The robust metal frame and leather ear cup padding give these over-ear headphones a premium appearance. If you prefer a different sound, you can customize it with a parametric EQ and presets in the companion app. Their default sound profile is well-balanced and a little bass-heavy, which may suit fans of genres like EDM and hip-hop, and if you prefer a different sound, you can customize it with a parametric EQ and presets in the companion app. Their active noise cancellation (ANC) feature does an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise, such as rumbling bus and airline engines. The recording quality of their microphone is adequate, so if you use it for phone calls, your voice will sound clear and full-bodied.

It’s useful for critical listening with active noise cancelling. These are a significant upgrade over the previous model ear cup design. They feature a more bass-heavy sound profile than the 2.0 version, but they are more balanced for call quality. They feature a thumping bass and a pushed-back mid-range, which has an effect on the vocals and lead instruments. Their treble, on the other hand, is accurate and well-balanced like home theatre. They’re suitable for a wide range of musical genres and are ideal for listening to music while on the go. It’s suitable for commuting. These headphones are very pleasant to wear and provide good noise isolation. They’re also great at blocking out bass frequencies like a bus engine’s rumble. They offer a long battery life that will take you through your daily commute, a full day at work, and even long flights.

However, they leak a lot of noise, like most open-back headphones, so they’re not the ideal choice if you want to listen to music at loud volumes on the bus or at work. Also, their huge size makes them difficult to transport, even though they fold into a more compact shape and come with a nice box to keep them in. If portability is a priority, the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 in-ear headphones are substantially smaller, albeit their ANC feature isn’t as effective. The Sennheiser PXC 550-II Wireless are more small, but their build quality isn’t as high, if you want more portable over-ear headphones.

The Sennheiser PXC 550-II Wireless are a good pair of headphones with a lot of features. The biggest visible change between these premium-looking over-ears and its predecessor, the Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless, is their much improved ANC capability. Their sound is well-balanced, and they should be able to handle a wide range of musical styles. They offer a nice and solid fit, much like the previous edition, so they’re a terrific choice if you prefer over-ear headphones at the gym.

The Sennheiser PXC 550-II headphones are excellent for commuting and travel. They’re comfy and can be worn for long amounts of time without tiredness or stiffness because to their well-padded design. They also have a lengthy battery life, making them ideal for long flights. Their ANC function is also excellent, and they effectively block out engine sounds when traveling by airline or bus. Unfortunately, they aren’t particularly portable, however they do fold flat and come with a soft carrying case to protect them.

The Sennheiser PXC 550-II headphones are ideal for usage in the office. They’re lightweight and have a long battery life, so you should be able to use them for an entire workday. Their ANC is also quite at at blocking out background noise, which helps you stay focused at work. They do, unfortunately, leak some audio, though it’s unlikely to annoy anyone around you unless you work in an incredibly quiet setting or blast your music.

It’s easy to forget that the Game One headset is made by a company whose headphones can be found in music studios all around the world. Sennheiser is known for developing extremely well-balanced headphones that reproduce audio exactly as it was intended to be heard. This Sennheiser gaming headset is no exception.

The audio coming through these wonderfully comfy velour cups is crisp and detailed across all ranges, from blazing soundtracks to incredibly detailed soundscapes of wide-open expanses. As a result, the Game Ones are ideal for consumers who want high-quality audio in their games and music. However, it’s a little surprising that there’s no noise suppression and a limited microphone, which could be annoying after spending so much money.

However, that pared-down approach does allow for improved audio quality and sound signature, a design attitude that appears to have made its way into the headset’s actual construction. There are no strobing RGB effects or futuristic designs and effects here; instead, it’s a simple open back black headset with a striking red almost chrome accent running through it. It’s a modest style, to be sure, but one that music fans will feel equally at ease wearing outside the house.

Sennheiser has a 70-year track record of delivering high-quality audio, and the company’s entrance into gaming headsets demonstrates that expertise. The GSP 600 sits just below the GSP 670 in the company headphone lineup and isn’t inexpensive, but it’s packed with materials and finishes that make you feel like you’re getting VIP treatment. The gratifying weight of the volume dial on the right earcup, as well as the ‘click’ of the mic arm when it mutes, are almost worth the price of admission on their own for an xbox one headset.

It’s not particularly innovative, with a braided cable, only 3.5mm split wires, and no inline remote, but if you can get over that, you’ll get a superb stereo spread and long-term comfort thanks to a clever adjustable headband tension mechanism.
