Cableguys ShaperBox 3 Review

With feature-rich enhancements like Audio Triggering, Sidechain View in VolumeShaper, and the new LiquidShaper flanger/phaser, ShaperBox 3 is the go-to plugin for inspiration, musical motion, and mixing ultimate plugin for modern mixes. Furthermore, ShaperBox’s nine potent multiband effects—Volume, Time, Drive, Filter, Crush Noise, Pan, Width, and Liquid—each offer a blank canvas for your creativity with a simple visual interface. Add a Shaper and create any waveform you can imagine to manage the effect with a straightforward visual interface that makes creation quick and pleasant with the improved master mix algorithm.

With Cableguys simplest LFO editing yet, you can make smooth sweeps, diagonal lines, or stepped patterns with ease. With just a few clicks, you can access a world of rhythmic discovery and unique creation. Then, add effects patterns to your music that correspond to the beat of your song to make it move. Additionally, you can activate effects in any rhythm using MIDI and the new Audio Triggering and the external sidechain feature.

By using the most basic samples, ShaperBox allows you to create endless variations from uninteresting musical compositions that will please your ears. The continuity of time is warped by half-speed slowdowns, glitches, stutters, and scratches. In addition to many other effects, Pan, flange, filter, bitcrush, widen, add noise, warp, and distort all have complete flexibility across side-chain three frequency bands for mixes and infinite inspiration.

The Shaper interface has been divided into three sections horizontally by the Cableguys. The middle is where the action happens, while the upper section is where global parameters like multiband splitting and master volume are maintained. The envelope follower and LFO are therefore placed in the middle. You can discover performance options, including custom lfo shapes and MIDI triggers, in the final section. The three tabs are positioned above all of the Shaper modules that are installed in your ShaperBox 3 plugin. Additionally, you can disable certain ones, click and drag to reorder their position, and remove any that you don’t want. A Master Mix slider may be found in a similar location on the bottom right. However, a settings menu and a preset plugin browser are located right at the end.

ShaperBox can be used as a transient editor and rhythm-tracking creative effect to create rhythmic effects when the new Audio Triggering mode is on because it resets the LFO with every transient. The inherent rhythm of drum parts, instruments, or even entire mixes can be used to generate innovative effects like filter patterns and noise sequences, flanging and deep lush phasing in one or to redraw the envelope of any sound. An external side-chain input offers more options by enabling the use of one audio source to start the processing of another.

The Envelope Followers in the plug-in have an improved Adaptive Release mode that gives them a more analogue-style response. Some of the effects that are already in use have also received some improvements. For click-free MIDI and audio side-chaining, VoumeShaper now includes a lookahead pre-smoothing tool; CrushShaper now has a dynamic Treble control to mitigate harshness; and TimeShaper now has a time offset display for better visualisation.

The new ShaperBox 3 is primarily translucent. Utilizing even a few sound Shapers will give your music a distinctive flavor. The DriveShaper, the CrushShaper, and the FilterShaper are just a few examples. In FilterShaper, both analog and digital filter types are offered. The latter improves the audio by saturating it just a little.

DriveShaper offers a variety of audio distortion effects, but they are not meant to be exact replicas of any gear. CrushShaper, which provides a variety of lo-fi effects, operates similarly. The CrushShaper, TimeShaper, and NoiseShaper may all be used to produce fantastic Lo-Fi effects. The TimeShaper is excellent for producing subtle tape/vinyl wow effects, whilst the other two add noise and crush.

Overall, ShaperBox 3 gives an open invitation to all sound artists to experiment with a powerful modulation engine and create their own distinctive effects. For instance, by lowering the master mix value, TimeShaper’s temporal modulation enables the creation of a novel chorus-like effect. It’s a good idea to take chances because there’s a good chance that whatever you do will work out well.

Additionally, Cableguys released a new browser that makes it simple to locate the presets you require. Various distinct categories for the presets, as well as quick filtering. A separate multiband compressor has been added to ShaperBox 3 and can be inserted at any point in the Shaper chain. Perfect for dynamically controlling the most complicated shaper chains.

A new version of the master mix algorithm includes enhanced mix/bypass for smoother dry to wet morphs without multiband phasing artifacts. A new master bypass button has also been added. Analog-style envelopes with new envelope followers and a better adaptive release mode are also included in ShaperBox 3. as well

One of the most intriguing multi-FX plugins available is ShaperBox. Despite not having many algorithms, it outperforms many of its rivals thanks to its modulation engine. It is quite adaptable since you may paint your own movements and time them to coincide with the moment the effect begins to take effect. Additionally, by combining effects to create gentle stereo modulations, you can get timbres from these vintage processors that would not otherwise be available. The Cableguys ShaperBox 3 Bundle, which includes all 9 shapers, is currently on sale for $89 USD (Black Friday). The price for a single shaper is $29 USD. ShaperBox 3 is a must have plugin.
