Multitasking is made easy with audiobooks. You can unwind, pick up new skills, or enter another planet. However, they differ from listening to music in that you must pay attention or you risk missing the plot. I enjoy listening to audiobooks for a variety of reasons, one of which is that they enable me to multitask. I can gladly do housework for hours if I’m reading a good book. I fold a lot of laundry. I run errands like it’s no big deal. Household tasks have evolved into sought-after reading chances as a result of audiobooks.
While listening, you can perform tasks, but there are other activities you can engage in that are equally beneficial or soothing. 19 activities that you can do while listening to an audiobook are covered in this blog post. From stretching and exercising to knitting and colouring, there is something for everyone.

What is an Audiobook?
An audiobook is a recording of a book’s spoken words. It serves as a substitute for reading. You can listen while doing household tasks, travelling, or when at home. You can choose from a variety of listening alternatives, such as CDs (which I do not advise), iTunes purchases and downloads, or even Audible (Amazon), which offers millions of volumes to choose from. However, in addition to your Amazon Prime account, you do need a subscription for those services, so it does cost more.
Go for a walk
This is a fantastic way to exercise and enjoy the outdoors at the same time! Additionally, if you have a dog or a companion, you can discuss the book while walking back to your house. Why not combine walking with something fun, like listening to an audiobook? Walking has several advantages, including weight loss and improved sleep. The main danger is being sidetracked by the surrounding natural beauty, but that’s where tempo comes into play!
Exercise
Exercise is a fantastic method to decompress and reduce stress. And if you’re doing it while listening to an audiobook, you can also pick up new knowledge!
You can engage in a variety of exercises, including biking, running, and even visiting the gym. Stretching is another fantastic option that requires no equipment if you don’t like working out. Just make sure you stretch and cool down appropriately after your workout! After all, you don’t want to hurt yourself.
Drink
Do you feel focused or under pressure? Have a cup of coffee and take a rest.
Eat
Eating a meal while listening to an audiobook is a great way to multitask. You can still focus on your food and listen to the book at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone. Just make sure you’re not eating too quickly, so you don’t choke! Mealtimes are also an excellent opportunity for family discussions or even debates about the book.
Commute
If you frequently drive to work, school, or another location, now would be the ideal time to listen to an audiobook. Driving while paying attention to what you’re hearing is possible. Or you can read or listen to an audiobook while on the bus or train while doing other things.
Your commute will be less boring and more fun as a result of this. Who knows, though? Maybe along the way, you’ll pick up something new too! Just be careful not to become sidetracked by all the traffic going by. Did you know that people can commute for as long as two years of their lives? Better make good use of that time!
