5 Different Types of House Music

House music is a genre that has been around for decades. It was created in Chicago and Detroit, but it quickly spread to other cities across the country. The style of house music can be traced back to the early 1980s when DJs began playing records at parties. These parties were held on weekends and they usually took place in basements or warehouses. In the beginning, these parties featured only black people who listened to hip-hop and R&B. However, as time went by, white people started attending them too. This led to the creation of different types of house music. Here are some of those styles:

Chicago House

The first type of house music was called Chicago house. It was developed in the city of Chicago during the late 1970s. It was made up of deep bass lines and funky beats. Many artists from this era include Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, and Paul Johnson. They all played their own versions of house music. Some of the most popular songs from this period included “I Want Your Love” by Frankie Knuckles, “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” by Frankie Knuckles, and “Love Is All Around” by Frankie Knuckles.

Detroit Techno

Detroit techno is another form of house music that originated in the city of Detroit. It was created by DJs such as Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May. These three men also helped create the sound of techno. Their tracks had very fast drumbeats and heavy basslines. Other artists who contributed to the development of techno include Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, and Kevin Saunderson.

Minimal Techno

Minimal techno is a subgenre of techno that emerged in the 1990s. Artists like Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, and Steve Bug helped develop this new style of house music. Minimal techno features minimalistic sounds with no vocals. Instead, it uses synthesizers and samplers.

Deep House

Deep house is one of the newest forms of house music. It was created in the mid-1990s by producers such as Todd Terry, Louie Vega, and Dave Seaman. Deep house is characterized by slow tempos and smooth melodies. Its main influences come from jazz and soul music.

Techno House

Techno house is an offshoot of techno. It was created in the late 1980s by DJs such as Larry Levan, Ron Hardy, and Frankie Knuckles. Techno house has more of a dance floor feel than techno does. It also includes more vocal samples.

These are just some of the many types of house music that have existed over the years. Each one of them has its own unique sound and vibe.
